About This Opportunity 

The Sexual Misconduct Training Coordinator will work within the Health Promotion Team within Student Services at The University of Queensland (UQ). They will be responsible for coordinating, developing, and delivering practical training to the UQ community (e.g. staff, students and colleges) on topics such as sexual misconduct prevention, response, consent and ethical bystander actions.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working within the UQ Respect team to create an ongoing educational program on campus and within colleges to address the causes, situations, and behaviours associated with sexual assault, sexual harassment, intimate partner violence and other non-consensual behaviours.
  • Developing, delivering and promoting training on prevention, response and reporting within the wider UQ Community, including students, staff and partners, in-line with the Sexual Misconduct Strategic Framework and Action Plan.
  • Creating training plans, schedules and reports.
  • Developing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct outreach with student groups to provide prevention education programming focused on community needs.
  • Work with the UQ Resect team, student groups and campus organisations to increase awareness of sexual misconduct within the context of these groups.
  • Gather feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session and collect data to inform the continued development of prevention education programming.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested within the Health Promotion Team.
  • Respond and refer appropriately and compassionately to any disclosures from students and staff.

About You

Essential:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, for example in social work, social sciences, domestic and family violence, or equivalent combination of at least two years relevant training facilitator experience.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of sexual misconduct or related training in a practical context, and/or is able to demonstrate the relevant skills to deliver training in a practical context.
  • Proficiency in word processing, presentation software and equipment.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to negotiate, provide advice to and liaise with a wide range of clients and stakeholders including students, academic and professional staff and other contacts.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to analyse data, develop reports, draft documents and integrate information from a variety of sources accurately and timely.
  • Experience specifically related to the prevention of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking and sexual health issues.
  • Ability to work independently as well within a team environment to deliver shared outcomes.
  • Must be holder of a Blue Card or have the ability to attain one.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the delivery of education and awareness initiatives.
  • General knowledge of the Australian higher education sector and its current issues.
  • Understanding of the university cohort when developing and delivering training and or workshops.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed-term position through to January 2024 at HEW 6.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $84,871 - $91,158 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $$99,300 - $106,655 per annum.
