About the Centre for Social Impact

The Centre for Social Impact (CSI) is a national research and education centre dedicated to catalysing social change for a better world. CSI is built on the foundation of four of Australia’s leading universities: UNSW Sydney, The University of Western Australia, Flinders University and Swinburne University of Technology.

CSI National and CSI UNSW are located on the UNSW Sydney campus (Kensington) within the UNSW Business School where the centre is aligned with the strategic priorities of the University and from where it leads interactions with students, alumni, industry, government, professional bodies, and the community.

Why Your Role Matters

The National Head of Executive Education and Professional Development is an exciting newly created opportunity to lead the development and delivery of ground-breaking executive education, professional development and leadership programs for social purpose practitioners, CEOs and Board members.

Working as part of a passionate team at the Centre for Social Impact, you will have the opportunity to work with philanthropic organisations, not-for-profit executives, social impact leaders, academics, and other key industry partners in designing and managing successful professional development programs including Social Impact Leadership Australia (SILA) and Governance for Social Impact.

If you are an experienced leader with a background in designing, delivering, and promoting professional development programs coupled with a passion for social change then we would love to hear from you.

The National Head of Executive Education and Professional Development reports to the CSI National Industry Director and has two direct reports, a Senior Project Officer and a Project Officer who support the delivery of the programs.

Accountabilities

There are 5 key areas that will be vital to your success in this role:

  • Seeking, prioritising and stewarding opportunities
  • Quality course/program design and development
  • Business Development, Marketing and Outreach
  • An understanding of participant needs and ensuring participant engagement
  • Operational leadership, including financial modelling, reporting and resource management

Who You Are

The skills and experience required for this position are (but not limited to):

  • Tertiary degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline with substantial relevant experience, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of relevant education, training and/or experience.
  • Exceptional commercial acumen with excellent business development and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and secure resources from a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering professional development programs. Deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning technologies. Familiarity with online learning platforms and educational technologies is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of current trends and best practices in continuing education, executive education and professional development.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution with extensive experience in managing complex objectives and competing priorities. Strong portfolio management skills.
  • Proven leadership skills managing a team of professionals, including managing workloads, setting priorities and influencing and driving outcomes in a complex environment and across organisational boundaries.
