Hotham Mission is a not-for-profit organisation providing community support for people in and around North Melbourne, Flemington and Kensington. We deliver community development, intervention and capacity development programs empowering people to exercise agency over their lives.

Hotham Mission delivers support in close partnership with various community organisations, local service providers and schools in the North Melbourne, Flemington and Kensington areas.

POSITION FOCUS

Hotham Mission seek a staff member to work on high school cooking program. Teaching year 11-12 students how to engage with food, staff would be required to lead the class. This is a weekly program during the school term.

We require someone experienced in both cooking and welfare/social services.

Working as part of a team, with young people most of whom are from a culturally and linguistically diverse background. Teaching, nurturing and inspiring the young people to cook.

We need someone who is an excellent cook with a good knowledge of diverse foods, who also has experience working with young people preferably in a welfare/social services setting.

We need someone to work with, support and inspire the young people - not just someone to cook for them.

The ideal candidate would be patient, respectful and willing to work within a team.

This is a casual role every Monday during the school term. As per SACHS award depending on experience + casual loading and superannuation.
