About the role

UC Camping (UCC) operates several group accommodation venues (campsites) throughout Victoria, including Norval and Acacia Lodge, in Halls Gap.

UCC is seeking a highly motivated, experienced and qualified person to fill the position of Program Manager. The sites provide group accommodation and hospitality for up to 300 guests, coming from a broad range of user groups. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the value of education outdoors and the camping experiences.

This is a full time permanent position with a preference for the Program Manager to live on site. An attractive remuneration package is being offered.

The successful applicant will work as part of the UC Camping team and be responsible for the delivery of the Outdoor Education programs at our Halls Gap sites and support program at Adekate Lodge. The role provides a diverse work environment and includes managerial and operational tasks, including some ‘on call’ work.

The successful candidate will be able to develop and lead a team, manage external contractors and develop strong relationships with our guests. The ability to work as part of the UC Camping general management team is critical.

About you

To secure this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Outdoor Education/Recreation or a related field e.g. Environmental Science, Nature Based tourism , or agreed equivalent experience
  • Proven successful experience in a related role of similar scope and complexity
  • Formal certifications/ qualifications in Bushwalking, Challenge Ropes Course. Certifications/ qualifications in other disciplines highly desirable, for example; Climbing / Abseiling, Mountain Biking, and Paddling.
