The College is seeking a qualified and experienced school counsellor to support and develop the wellbeing of our students, working with a team to support the pastoral care and needs of the community. A significant aspect of this role is to  assist in the management of the social, emotional and educational needs of students.

The School Counsellor will work closely with the school's wellbeing team, including a colleague counsellor based at the Regents Park campus. The role provides direct support to students at risk, by working with the Principal and teachers on case management support to families and referral to and liaison with outside agencies. The school counsellor will contribute to College initiatives, including professional development and critical incident response, as required.

Qualifications / Experience:

The successful applicant will have a practical commitment to the Vision and Mission of Catholic education; have tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or related disciplines; Eligibility for membership of an appropriate professional association (e.g. AASW, APS or CAPA). Experience working with adolescents/young people is essential, preferably in a secondary school setting.

A postgraduate qualification in Counselling or Psychology and having experience working within a multidisciplinary team is highly desirable. Applicants must have a valid NSW WWCC.
