About the role
The Residential Team Leader supports the needs of children and young people in out of home care (residential OOHC) programs as well as providing a support framework and operational management of support staff on your team.
The RTL reports directly to the Program Manager to ensure young people's Care Plans facilitate their participation in activities and experiences that enhance developmental, cultural, social, and therapeutic outcomes.
TASKS AND RESPONSiBILITIES
- Manage the daily operation of residential homes, including supervision and support of a team of House Managers (between 3-5)
- Work with the Program Manager to accept new referrals and meet new participants to the programme and assess their nature of difficulties
- Ensure the safety and welfare of children and young people in placements with the organisation.
- Work in collaboration with the wider organisation, government agencies and partner organisations
- Ensure timely and accurate records are maintained in line with organisation and legislative requirements
- Participate in and organisation of the on-call roster (additional wages paid)
- Coordination and oversight of administrative matters such as rostering, leave, performance management and assisting the Program Manager in budgetary matters.

ESSENTIAL criteria
- Minimum qualification of a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 3 years' experience working across a range of children, family and youth services
- Experience in rostering, scheduling and coordination of people and services
- Proven ethical decision-making abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership experience with success in developing high performing teams
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Unrestricted NSW driver’s licence
- Current and valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Clear National Criminal History Check
