Therapy Focus are a non-for-profit, community service organisation who are specialists in individual therapy. We have a team of clinicians and administrative support staff, who work collaboratively to develop comprehensive, individualised therapy plans to meet the needs and goals of our customers.

We are in an exciting growth phase, and as a result we are looking for a Clinical Lead - Psychology and Counselling Services within our Mental Health and Wellbeing Division. This is a full time, permanent position, we can be flexible where the role is based, however the role does require some travel to other bases.

What’s the role?

The Clinical Lead Psychology and Counselling Services role is responsible for building clinical excellence in Psychology and Counselling services across the business, in conjunction with the other clinical leads and team leaders. The role focuses on the education and support of clinical staff and the development of the service ensuring contemporary best practices are applied. This role provides senior support to the business in various capacities, including clinical supervision, project management, portfolio work, providing specialist advice and guidance for clinical risk and complex presentations, and managing a clinical caseload.

  • Be part of an exciting and evolving team of mental health specialists striving to provide evidence-based assessments and interventions for a broad scope of presentations working across the lifespan in both NDIS and Private Services
  • Therapy Focus support professional development in best practice, evidence-based interventions to meet clinical excellence. We support and prioritise staff to develop their own learning and development plan to target their area of speciality and clinical skills to meet client requirements with access to a Psychologist for regular supervision
  • Utilise Trauma-Informed and Domestic-Violence Informed frameworks within the Disability Sector

What’s Required?

  • Relevant tertiary Qualifications in Psychology
  • Must have and maintain a current registration with AHPRA
  • At least 8 years’ experience as a psychologist teamed with hands-on experience managing complex cases
  • Proven experience with Psychological Assessment, Interventions and evidenced-based, best-practice
  • Proven experience working with other mental health and disability allied health practitioners and counsellors
  • Board approved Supervisor or willing to complete relevant training
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and support for other therapists
  • Demonstrated experience as a leader in the field in supporting quality service delivery in other therapists
  • Demonstrated skills in networking with external stakeholders
  • A passion for ongoing learning and skill development to deliver best outcomes for the customers we support
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills teamed with a flexible, can-do attitude, to engage and build rapport with customers and their support networks and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team where you can contribute positively to team culture and productivity
