The Grange Community Centre Inc. is looking for an exceptional Children’s Services Manager to join our organisation leading a team of talented educators and staff across our children’s services programs.
Established in 1993, The Grange Community Centre (GCC) is a vibrant community hub that provides lifelong learning and support to more than 1200 people each week. GCC is a funded Neighbourhood House and is registered to provide 3 Year Old Kindergarten, Occasional Care 3+ Activity Groups and Out of School Hours Care Programs that receive Childcare Subsidy. GCC programs and services are supported by Wyndham City Council, Federal and State Governments.
Reporting directly to the Executive Officer, the Children's Services Manager will oversee managing the curriculum and educational direction of the Children's Services Programs. They work to guide and influence positive outcomes for children and their families. As part of the Senior leadership team, they work collaboratively to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and programs and the management of staff across the children's services programs.
Role and Responsibility
- To grow, lead, develop, and deliver the children’s services programs to meet the demand of the Grange and wider Wyndham community supporting the Executive Officer and the strategic plan.
- To oversee the management of reporting, funding & regulatory compliance, as well as program enrolments across all children services and staff.
- As the Educational Leader, oversee and lead the curriculum planning and implementation across all children’s services programs and support the Children Services team through daily operations and performance development.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
- Completion Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and VIT registration (or working towards), current Child Protection Training Certificate, valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the legislative requirements, regulations, developmental frameworks and the NQF and ability to implement and guide the requirements of the approved Early Learning Frameworks of Australia.
- Current ACECQA approved First Aid Certificate (including CPR Refresher), Anaphylaxis Certificate (including Adrenaline Auto Injection Device Refresher), and Emergency Asthma Management Certificate.
- Experience working in a management role within children’s services, and ability to lead teams to implement high quality educational programs.
- Strong capacity to build relationships and gain cooperation and assistance from a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and facilitate problem solving of complex issues.
- Ability to foster, undertake and encourage positive communication with diplomacy, confidentiality, and sensitivity.
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a nominated supervisor of a service.
- Current Driver's Licence.
