About the Role

To facilitate small group and individual activities for adults with a range of disabilities in local community settings, utilising a community development approach. Engage with families, carers, volunteers and community members to establish and maintain opportunities for personal outcomes to be achieved, whilst ensuring high quality support and personal care assistance, if required.

About You

You are a passionate advocate for people with disability who enjoys focusing on personal outcomes for participants and empowering people to make individualised choices. You are a great communicator who can build relationships and work collaboratively with others to develop community based links, networks and partnerships. You are seeking to work with a values based organisation to promote independence and inclusion in the community for people with disability.

To be considered for this role you will meet the following selection criteria.

Essential

  • Certificate IV (or currently completing) in Disability or equivalent.
  • Current qualifications/experience in First Aid, CPR and Manual Handling.
  • A current and valid Victorian Driver’s Licence and a reliable comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • Proven ability to work positively with people to reach their individual goals.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing service models.
  • A well-developed ability to think creatively and develop solutions based on contemporary practise
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A commitment and ability to work as part of a small team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Sound IT skills in the use of MS Office.

Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience
