Teach Learn Grow (TLG) is a student volunteer based organisation that provides education programs to remote and rural primary school children in Western Australia and New South Wales. TLG provides one-on-one tutoring and mentoring n schools (across 30 WA schools and two NSW schools) and online mentoring to over 300 primary school children to enable these remote and rural children to achieve their best education potential.

If you believe you can lead a small team of salaried employees, and a management team of over 60 volunteers, who coordinate over 600 volunteer tutors to deliver the two core programs to primary school children, then please apply for this important leadership role.

The role of the Chief Executive Officer is to lead the organisation, ensure its financial sustainability, implement the strategic plan, and maximise the organisation’s social impact.

The focus of the role is on sponsorship through corporate and government partnerships, social enterprise and fundraising campaigns. Key to the position is leadership of a salaried Chief Funding Manager (full-time), a salaried Chief Financial Officer (part-time), a salaried Chief Operating Officer (part-time), a volunteer student executive team (approx. 60 people) and a large team of volunteer tutors and mentors (approx. 600 university students).

The CEO is responsible to the Board of TLG for:

  • Securing funding through corporate and government sponsorships, grants and other means to ensure TLG’s financial sustainability and growth;
  • Developing and implementing the Strategic Plan and Action Plan and overseeing other operational plans as required by the organisation;
  • Representing the Employer to all stakeholders including community and Government, and developing strong working relationships through effective communication;
  • Ensuring the appropriate management and deployment of budget and resources within the organisation including the devising of the organisational structures and arrangements;
  • Providing leadership, strategic direction and a focus on results for the organisation;
  • Ensuring that appropriate financial and operational planning, monitoring and management is undertaken;
  • Ensuring that necessary training, education and development programmes are undertaken;
  • Ensuring implementation of necessary health and safety standards and programs as subject to applicable safety laws;
  • Ensuring that the Employer keeps proper records and submits reports to regulatory bodies as required;
  • Oversees and contributes to preparation of the annual report on the organisation’s operations and ensure all audit functions are undertaken and results reported to the Board and members.

An attractive package of a salary in the range of $80,000 - $100,000 (inclusive of 9.5% superannuation), a performance based bonus and flexible working environment is available to the right candidate.
