About the Role

This role is based in the Flinders Chase National Park on Kangaroo Island and reports to our Regional Experience Manager. As the Kangaroo Island Team Leader you are responsible for ensuring the smooth walk operations and thereby the ultimate guest experience throughout the walker season. This will be through the coordination of logistics and delivery of walk operations, the management of safe systems and procedures, food and guest service standards, Guide training & support and maintenance of the cottages and associated assets.

Our Guides at Kangaroo Island take our Guests across four days of expedition starting from Adelaide, along elements of the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail such as the Platypus Waterholes, Maupertuis Bay and Remarkable Rocks before returning to Adelaide.

What you will bring

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the Kangaroo Island area and its ecosystem, helping to share with the guests our world of spectacular granite formations, limestone cliffs, historical buildings, and unique natural spectacle.

We are looking for a passionate and collaborative Team Leader with strong leadership skills. You will be adaptive, flexible and possess the ability to problem solve in order to achieve operational success. In addition, you will have:

• Minimum of 2 years in a management or team leader role preferably in a tourism venture.
• Experience in the eco-tourism industry – preferably in an operational role.
• 2+ years hospitality experience and a passion for preparing and cooking delicious food.
• The ability to live on site to work up to 8 days in a row in a remote wilderness area including over weekends and public holidays.
• Current Wilderness First Aid (SISSS00126)
• Current Provide CPR (HLTAID009)
• Food Handling Level II (SITXFSA002)
• Responsible Service of Alcohol
• Current valid Drivers Licence (PPV Desirable)
