About the role…

The successful individual will be…

  • Working effectively with the wider team to deliver challenging income targets
  • Planning, coordinating and implementing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Taking ownership of the appeals, Zoo Parent and RG programs and challenge the status quo
  • Managing costs whilst maximising outcomes within the Governmental framework

Key accountabilities…

  • Deliver income for Taronga with the goal of delivering $4.5M in 18/19 and delivering over $30M over the next 5 years.
  • Implement a multi-faceted direct marketing, donor development, online marketing program that develops broad-based community support for Taronga.
  • Implement marketing strategies for acquiring cost effective new supporters through a variety of different media such as face to face, on-line, direct mail, telemarketing, recruiting a range of donors such as the Cash Supporters, Zoo Parents (annual adoption program) and Regular Givers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the supporter journey and maximise the retention of existing supporters such as the Cash Supporters, Zoo Parents and Regular Givers with the objective of increasing their lifetime values to Taronga.
  • Manage the in-ground presence for the Taronga Foundation to drive contributions from donation boxes, zoo guide book and other in-ground/face to face fundraising activities.
  • Develop, recommend and oversee implementation of strategies to retain and increase support, including through telephone and online channels.
  • Maximise the use of and manage the supporter data within the ThankQ database, ensuring data integrity and best guidelines are adhered to.
  • Work with the Direct Marketing Manager to manage the associated budgets with the above areas, including the preparation of fundraising program budgets. Ensure the efficient planning, monitoring and management of the Direct Marketing budget and reporting.

About you…

We are looking for candidates that have:

  • Experience in direct marketing or fundraising, ideally in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in achieving revenue targets, preferably in the fundraising area, on time, within budget and within brand guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate a high level in both written and oral form, and the ability to communicate, sensitively to people of all ages, financial and social backgrounds
  • Obtain and maintain a volunteer Working With Children Check at own expense
