Taldumande Youth Services is a lead charity committed to supporting vulnerable and homeless children, young people, and their families. The dedicated team at Taldumande responds to crisis, provides accommodation, restores wholeness from family breakdown and prepares individuals for success in life. Based in Northern Sydney and the Northern Beaches, Taldumande supports young people from all across Sydney, and has a range of highly successful homelessness, family, and young offender programs.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated youth worker who is also interested in supporting case work (P/PT to F/T position available – 3 day shifts, 1 to 2 sleepover shifts p/w, Lower North Shore base) for our unique, evidence based, and highly successful Family Preservation and Restoration Program, assisting children and young people 12 – 15 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and their families. The role also includes work in our Bail Assistance Line Program.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum Cert IV qualifications in Youth Work or related areas.
  • Ability to work unsupervised as well as within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours (including day support shifts, sleepover and weekend shifts).
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in working with conflict and resolving problems.
  • Current driver’s licence.
  • Willingness to attend compulsory training.
  • First Aid Certificate.

Desirables:

  • Experience working in youth based residential/housing and/or outreach services.
  • Experience with Brief Solution Focussed Therapy/strength-based practice.
