Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and warehouse support to the Manager, Strategic Projects and Logistics
- Manage both inward and outward stock movement whilst maintaining accuracy and integrity of store's inventory records including all associated documentation and record keeping for accounting purposes
- Proactively build and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with Council staff, freight providers, community members and suppliers
Duties include:
- Organise and prioritise work to ensure efficient and accurate freight delivery service to TSIRC Island Divisions and external TSIRC clients
- Manage all stock movements and follow through with any discrepancies that may arise
- Keep accurate records for all inwards and outwards inventory movements
- Assist with shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking merchandise
- Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders n delivery area
- Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment
- Ensure a safe and clean workplace at all times in accordance with Legislation and Council's Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Contribute to solutions-based problem solving
The right person for the role will be a team player, reliable and trustworthy.
They will also possess the following:
- A current (open and unrestricted) Queensland Driver's Licence
- Current High Risk Work Licence - Forklift (LF)
- Current heavy rigid (HR) Licence
- Ability to become proficient in the use of TSIRC computing systems with proficiency in inventory software, databases and systems
- Previous work experience in a similar role
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects and meet the physical demands of the role
- Attention to detail
- Able to work as part of a team
- The ability to be culturally responsive by demonstrating an understanding of the issues affecting Torres Strait Islander people and communicating with sensitivity and effectiveness
