About the role

As a direct result of this transformation, a new national opportunity is available for a creative, motivated individual to join our Brand and Marketing team as Content Specialist - Mission & Fundraising. The Brand and Marketing team is responsible for connecting with the hearts and minds of people and communities to raise awareness and positively position the mission of The Salvation Army to create relevance, sustainability and advocacy.

Reporting to the Content Manager, the successful applicant will play an important role in building and unifying the voice of TSA’s brand, through developing inspiring, fresh, relevant and integrated content to win the hearts and minds of our target audience; including long and short copy, writing for donors, missional and fundraising audiences across a variety of channels.

About you

The role of Content Specialist requires a passionate copywriter or content writer who believes in the power of brand and storytelling and can demonstrate capability in creating powerful messages, across a range of on and off line channels, contexts and sectors.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Degree in Marketing/Communications, Journalism (or related discipline)
  • 3+ years’ experience as a copywriter or content writer working across a range of channels, contexts and sectors, ideally including Fundraising/and or Mission
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability developing brand copy and fresh, inspired, relevant, integrated and campaignable creative
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, projects and campaigns in a range of channels, contexts and sectors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong storytelling ability
  • Strong awareness of, and/ or interest in, news and current affairs
  • A high level of stakeholder engagement skills
