About the role

We are seeking a values-driven Teacher who will ensure that a high-quality early learning environment is offered to all children and families enrolled at the Balga Early Learning Centre. This position will lead the kindy room team and oversee the room curriculum, provide mentoring and daily operations support to the kindy staff team.

You will successfully:

  • Must maintain at all times strong supervision of children across all rooms and age groups, ensuring room ratios are correct and in line with industry best practice.
  • Provide and create a curriculum of educational learning for the kindy children that is based on the Early Years Learning Framework. Providing a learning environment which is safe and where the activities are appropriate and engaging.
  • Ensure the standard of learning and care, provided to children (and families) is of an excellent standard leading to a high level of satisfaction.
  • Emulate behaviours and conduct consistent with a Level 2 in the Capability Framework.
  • Mentor and guide inexperienced staff / educators, to meet the required standard of behaviour and conduct consistent with a Level 1 in the Capability Framework.
  • In collaboration with the ELC Director, ensure that the professional practices of the ELC are of a high standard.n

This is a fixed-term (02/01/23) full-time role located in Balga, WA. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Education Services Teacher LDC.

You will have

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent
  • Experience within a community service or not for profit setting would be well regarded
  • Self-motivated, high level of initiative and strong work ethic
  • A national police record check is required
  • A current and valid Working with Children's Check
  • Entitlement to Work in Australia
