About the Role:

Salvos Stores are seeking a Full-time Permanent Product Manager to effectively manage the performance and continued improvement of the new product category for Salvos Stores.

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Merchandise you will lead key activities such as the rationalisation of core range, event lines and opportunity buys via product performance analysis, trend identification and customer buying behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage product strategy including a strategic, customer segment driven approach to product ranging, innovation, and pricing.
  • Drive product innovation, identifying emerging trends and opportunities in relation to new products.
  • Manage the planning and forecasting relating to seasonal budgets and category performance and report on overall sales, gross margin, and direct costs of sales.
  • Prepare and manage purchasing plans using current trends, past product performance and industry knowledge to ensure agreed expenditure and overall sales targets are met.
  • Monitoring inventory levels held at store, local and interstate warehouses and ensuring suitable supply timelines are applied.
  • Research suitable suppliers, overseeing product purchasing management including prices, transportation and other requirements to ensure that gross target margins are achieved.
  • Create and implement a compliance framework ensuring that all new products meet Australian legislative requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

About you:

  • Our ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years' experience in product/category management with a strong ability to build relationships, excellent negotiation skills and a successful record of product category growth and profitability.
  • You also have:
    • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field
    • Excellent people and management skills
    • Strong written communication skills.
    • A high level of experience using Microsoft Office Suite
    • A class C Driver's Licence
