A newly created position in our national diversity and inclusion team. This role will support frontline salvo expressions in building an inclusive culture in ministry and mission.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a values driven person to assist in the development and implementation of a national framework that strengthens Salvation Army mission to diverse groups of people. You will promote mission inclusion opportunities for those experiencing hardship and injustice on various grounds, such as social or economic status, physical or cognitive abilities, sexuality or ethnicity.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate the diversity and inclusion competency of The Salvation Army through the provision of training and resources
  • Project manage and lead specific initiatives or programs that assists The Salvation Army's mission to diverse communities
  • Provide support for 2nd Generation migrant community engagement with corps
  • Support The Salvation Army's diversity and inclusion work through best practice and also policy input

Reporting to the General Manager - Diversity & Inclusion, this position is located at our SA/NT Divisional Headquarters in Fullarton.

HOURS

This is a permanent part time position, 24 hours per week.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL HAVE

  • A passion about creating inclusive environments
  • Experience in the diversity & inclusion sector
  • Relevant degree qualification or equivalent relevant experience
  • Well developed cultural competency skills
  • An understanding of the issues around diversity and inclusion as they pertain to people facing hardship and injustice
  • Experience in working with church and ministry leaders
