We are currently seeking casual Early Childhood Educators to assist in all areas within the Early Childhood Program of the Carina Child Care Centre, in line with The Salvation Army mission.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking values-driven and proactive Casual Educators to create a friendly, secure and stimulating interactive learning environment for children.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the delivery of the program for each child with the assigned group.
  • Assist in planning and preparing the environment, setting up interest areas; re-oganising and clearing away materials and supplies.
  • Promote outcomes where, children have a strong sense of identity; children are connected with and contribute to their world; children have a strong sense of wellbeing; children are confident and involved learners; children are effective communicators.
  • Promote a culture of Belonging, Being and Becoming through active partnerships with children, positive behaviour management, continuity of care between the home and school environments.
  • Assist in maintaining daily attendance records and ongoing developmental records for each child, including keeping records of all developing skills.

This position is located at Carina Child Care Centre and Kindergarten, Carina QLD

HOURS AND SALARY

We currently have casual vacancies.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Children's Services Award Level 3.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Certificate III in Community Services (Children's Services) or a one year qualification in early childhood or child care studies from a higher education institution
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Experience working in an early childhood centre environment with a minimum of 12 months highly desirable
  • Customer service focused
  • Knowledge of regulations that govern this type of environment
  • Sensitivity to the needs of children (and their parents) in the care of Centre Staff.
  • Confidentiality in all aspects of role.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form.
  • Current and valid QLD Employee Working with Children Check/Blue Card
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
