The Salvation Army International Development (SAID) is a department of The Salvation Army Australia that seeks a world restored by the love of Christ, living in dignity and filled with hope. SAID works globally, empowering vulnerable communities to achieve their basic human rights.

The International Development (SAID) Project Coordinator is responsible for developing and coordinating community development projects in assigned overseas territories and contributing to the strategic direction of SAID including contributing to SAID monitoring and evaluation systems and their implementation. This role is accountable for delivering on project outcomes, and complying with policy and funding requirements.

The SAID Project Coordinator will report to the Projects Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination - Monitor the implementation of projects through regular communication and monitoring visits appropriate to the size of the project and project risks, and write detailed trip reports
  • Program Management - Contribute support in monitoring and evaluation systems development, improvement and implementation across SAID, in collaboration with international partners
  • Networking and Partnerships - Develop relationships and network with other stakeholders in the international development sector
  • Capacity Building - Assist in the training and development of partner territory staff to contribute to strengthening and building the capacity of the partner territory

For this role you will have

  • Minimum 3 years experience working in International Development
  • Understanding of international development issues including gender, disability, environment education and child protection
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications: undergraduate degree in International Development or related discipline.
  • Willingness to commit to a minimum of 60 days travelling as part of role, whether overseas, intra-state or inter-state

To be a success in this role you must have strong organisational skills and sound knowledge of Microsoft applications.
