About this role

As a Community Development Worker you will work in partnership with the key stakeholders to facilitate partnerships, networks and develop activities that meet the needs of the children and families. You will:

  • Undertake meaningful and effective consultation to inform service delivery and sector development
  • Develop, implement and evaluate strategies which enhance community engagement and capacity
  • Plan and manage the EOI – Expression of Interest using a robost methodology
  • Plan and manage events and activities in collaboration with other agencies

What you need to succeed?

You will have a tertiary qualification in Social Welfare or related discipline, experience in community development and:

  • Understanding of community engagement, health promotion, public health, social sciences, marketing (social media and website for communicating events), education and child protection frameworks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with knowledge of community sector engagement principles
  • Project coordination experience including planning, monitoring, evaluation and group facilitation
  • Community engagement experience; the ability to identify, develop and evaluate partnerships
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to effectively manage interruptions while meeting deadlines
