The ReachOut Parents One-on-one Support Program, delivered by ReachOut Australia and The Benevolent Society, is a national service that offers free support to parents and caregivers to build their skills and confidence in supporting their teens who may be experiencing mental health issues.
The One-on-one Support program uses a virtual service delivery model to deliver up to 4 sessions to clients over the phone and online. Coaches use coaching tools through the ReachOut Parents dashboard to support clients to identify ways to support and strengthen their relationship with their teen.

Your Responsibilities
- Apply a brief intervention coaching model to practice; using solution focused and strengths based approaches with parents to assess and address risk and protective factors, and to develop Family Action Plans, Problem Solving Plans and Support Plans
- Provide practical skill building parenting support to promote individual and family wellbeing and functioning
- Link parents and young people with clinical and other support services or community activities that may be helpful in reducing the factors associated with risk of mental illness
- Ensure that all administrative requirements are met in accordance with The Benevolent Society standards including clinical record keeping, data gathering and evaluation

Skills and Experience
Along with a background in Social Work, Psychology or Case Work, you will have
- A relevant degree qualification
- Experience identifying and addressing child protection concerns using a strengths-based approach
- Experience delivering counselling, family support and/ or coaching and mentoring with parents.
- Knowledge of mental health, family functioning, effective parenting techniques and strategies.
- To be technically savvy with the ability to work within a virtual service delivery model.
- High level of professional accountability and integrity and a belief that every parent has potential
- High level written and verbal communication, it’s important to document our work
