  • Full time or part time (minimum 4 days a week) position with location flexibility in either Moree Plains LGA or Narrabri Shire LGA.
  • $39.04ph - $42.00ph + Super + Salary Packaging
  • Position suited for a self-starter who has sound knowledge in child protection and enjoys working independently!

Our Family Preservation and Intensive Family Support Services offer voluntary in-home family support to vulnerable families who are at risk of entering or re – entering the Child Protection System. We aim to strengthen families so children can live at home safely, free from abuse and neglect, and enjoy the best possible start to life.

Your new role:

You will engage and support at risk families to make different choices for their children. You will undertake an initial assessment of family strengths and needs and develop case plans that build on the family’s resilience to enable them to overcome risks and increase the family’s functioning. You will work closely with statutory child protection services and other statutory and community services to help support families to shape their next chapter.

What you need to succeed?

Tertiary qualification in Social Work or similar related field

  • 2+ years experience identifying and addressing child protection concerns
  • Excellent understanding of child protection issues and client vulnerabilities such as drug and alcohol use, domestic violence, mental health issues, and the impact of trauma and the effect on child behaviour and development
  • Holistic strengths based approach to achieve lasting change
  • High level of professional accountability and integrity and a belief that every parent has potential + capacity to engage with families and develop productive relationships based on trust and transparency
  • Current driver’s license
  • Current WWCC and CRC
