About the role
The primary focus of this role is to support the daily operations of our Northern Rivers Team. This involves supporting the team working with people living with mental health or disability through secondary consultation, debriefing, and crisis management. You will also be a point of contact for participants and their supports including families, allied health professionals and support coordinators. This role also involves the running of our popular Social Clubs.
Duties
Shift Management
Strategy and Training
- Actively grow our Northern Rivers team through the recruitment of both new staff and participants.
- Identify ways to grow our organisation sustainably by implementing new programs and expanding existing initiatives such as the Social Club.
- Conduct risk assessments, provide direction to staff, and liaise with other services and supports to ensure a high quality of service provision.
- Monitor the health and wellbeing of all staff and play an active role in wellbeing initiatives including supervision, reflective practice, and the implementation of wellbeing plans.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the support we provide by identifying and implementing better ways of working.
Recruitment and Marketing
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing support of staff.
- Play an active role in promoting and marketing the services provided by Support Studio to key stakeholders.
Administration and Meetings
- Attend care team meetings, oversee care plans, and liaise with other informal and formal supports to ensure the provision of collaborative and holistic supports.
- Ensure a high standard of case notes across teams
- Assist with administrative duties that include but are not limited to:
- Rostering
- Onboarding staff
- Invoice processing
- Approving timesheets
- Database management
- Incident reporting
- Monitor shared emails
- Referral management

Key Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Current Driver’s License and appropriate car insurance
- National Police and State Working with Children’s Check (Employee)
- Rights to work in Australia
- Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR)
- A willingness to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Satisfactory completion of:
- New Worker NDIS Induction Module
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desirable:
- Qualifications in mental health, disability, community services or a relevant qualification.
- Experience leading diverse teams of people.
- Experience providing secondary consultation, supervision, debriefing and reflective practice to staff.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and providing direction to staff in a crisis.
- Experience leading teams working with people living with mental health and or disability.
- A good understanding of the NDIS and existing relationships with key stake holders working across the Northern Rivers.
- Knowledge of the Disability Act 2006 and other relevant legislation, policies and guidelines.
- High level administrative skills
