Support Act was established in 1997 by the Australian music industry to deliver crisis relief services to artists, roadies and music workers facing hardships due to illness, mental health problems, injury or some other crisis. This support can be range from assisting with daily living costs (e.g. rent and bill paying) to bringing comfort and dignity to people in the final stages of life. Our flagship Wellbeing Helpline service offers 24/7 professionally staffed telephone counseling to people in music with concerns about their mental health and wellbeing.
This newly created position will be the face of Support Act in Victoria, and will be responsible for raising our profile and engagement with industry, government and the music loving community across the State. Reporting to the CEO, the position will play a key role in helping the charity to implement its Board-approved strategic objectives. These relate to provision of services (in conjunction with our VIC/TAS social worker) and the implementation of fundraising and advocacy campaigns. This is a home-based position offered at 30 hours per week.
