Amélie Housing is the name of the national community housing provider organisation established by St Vincent de Paul Society (the Society) in Australia and is an important part of the Society. Amélie Housing is a Registered Tier 1 Community Housing Provider under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing.

About the Role:

The Team Lead - Asset and Procurement is responsible for the effective implementation of procurement and asset management processes of Amélie Housing. You will report remotely to the National Asset Manager and will have three direct reports in the team. Your strong skills in market research, contract/supplier negotiation and in-depth knowledge of asset and procurement principles and processes are vital to your success in this role.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the asset and procurement team, ensure collaboration and efficient implementation of processes
  • Develop and implement asset and procurement management strategies that will ensure achieving best outcomes for Amelie Housing
  • Manage the procurement lifecycle including contractor/vendor selection through market research, contract negotiations, maintenance of relationship with suppliers
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of company assets
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; communicate with the National Asset Manager on a regular basis to provide progress reports and inform on other relevant matters.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in procurement and asset management
  • Experience in residential property maintenance and Community Housing / Public Housing
  • Knowledge of the National Construction Code
  • High level analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven skills in using Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong people management, communication and interpersonal skills.
