Your new role:

As the Residential Care Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing various vital service functions at Frederic House. Using your excellent leadership skills, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring optimal levels of care while meeting financial targets and regulatory standards.

The Service:

Frederic House is an aged care facility specifically for men who have mental health needs, who may be using substances and have experienced homelessness. At Frederic House, we strive to enhance the physical, social, and emotional well-being of each individual in our care. You will be joining a supportive and inclusive team where you can contribute meaningfully to the community and make a real difference to people's lives.

Your responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by facilitating a high-performing team to understand and service our residents needs to the highest standard.
  • Work with the Frederic House Coordinators and other stakeholders to develop and implement innovative strategies to deliver an excellent customer experience
  • Effectively manage all operational and business related risks, ensuring effective risk mitigation strategies are in place
  • Create opportunities to engage with our communities for the mutual benefit of staff, residents and the community
  • Lead the development and management of the facility's budget and financial targets, and ensure this is regularly reported on
  • Oversee various site functions including Leisure & Lifestyle, Hotel Services, Administration and Clinical
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor the individual needs and preferences of residents to ensure person-centred care
  • Build strong teams and provide operational and developmental leadership
  • Ensure that effective learning and development strategies are in place to ensure that staff are appropriately skilled and qualified to provide high quality care
  • Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ensure effective communication and change management strategies are in place

You will need:

  • Post graduate qualifications in healthcare/management preferably with an aged care and mental health/substance misuse focus or other related field.
  • Post graduate qualifications in business management, finance or related field, or significant transferable experience.
  • High level of financial and business acumen, with experience autonomously managing budgets of a $5-10 million range annual portfolio, financial reporting for internal Senior Leadership review, and other financial aspects relevant to healthcare or aged care settings.
  • A demonstrated record of utilising innovative approaches to provide excellent customer service.
  • Experience in managing people and performance related matters in a process decision-making capacity.
  • Excellent written and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Highly developed skills in use of technology, Microsoft Office software and client information management systems.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • A demonstrated record of achievement in a senior management role in a mental health/aged care setting.
  • Experience in managing change and achieving desired results.
  • Significant experience in leading and developing people.
  • Demonstrated experience in and working knowledge of contemporary aged care including but not limited to:
  • Aged Care Act 1997 and amendments.
  • Aged Care Accreditation Standards.
  • Aged Care Policies.
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme.
  • Medication administration.
  • Contemporary practice in aged care, mental health, homelessness and alcohol and other drugs
