About the Service

Embedded within the Corporate Services Directorate of the State Support Office, the Technology Services Team partners with NSW State Council, Central Councils, Special Works and Society employees, to create and sustain a secure, reliable and scalable technology environment, and to ensure careful and responsible management of the Society's technology resources. The department has embarked on a transformation journey with the purpose to enable better services, building capability and collaborating effectively across the Society's technology needs.

The Role

The Information Architect is responsible for the design, development and management of the Data and Information Architecture. The role will ensure all solutions for Operational Data, Data Warehousing, Analytics, Reporting and Business Intelligence are built in a way that is scalable, reliable and secure and supports rapid growth of information in an agile way.

This role will report to the Data Platform Manager.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information technology
  • Extensive experience leading the development of enterprise data and/or analytics solutions
  • Extensive Enterprise Data Architecture experience
  • Experience working with Kimball Data Warehouse methodologies
  • Strong Data Warehousing / Data Mart design and development capabilities
  • Strong Data Modelling (physical, logical, 3NF and Star Schema) abilities
  • Strong Data Quality and Integrity Management abilities
  • Strong Metadata Management capabilities
  • Strong Data / Information Governance competencies
  • Substantial experience with development using the Microsoft Data/BI stack (PowerBI, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, MS SQL Server, Azure, VSTS/DevOps etc.)
  • High degree of analytical and logical thinking towards complex and varied problems
  • Highly self-directed and able to manage and prioritise multiple concurrent and competing challenges, issues, ambiguities, and contradictions.
  • Communicate well and multi-task under tight deadlines.
  • Be a team player and a problem-solver.
  • Customer-oriented approach
