About the Role

The Sister Francesca Healy Cottage is a five-bed health facility in a homely terrace house, and targets clients with complex needs such as homelessness, substance use, mental health issues, disability and family violence. The multidisciplinary team aims to provide physical, social and emotional support within an environment of safe practice, respect and dignity.

As a Health Care Worker, you will aim to create a welcoming space, build relationships, and provide personal care to clients.

The shifts for the position are:

• 0700 – 1620
• 1600 – 0720 (overnight)

Duties for the position include:

• Create a welcoming space and build relationships with clients
• Provide personal care such as diabetes, wound and continence monitoring, medication and activities of daily living (ADLs) assistance
• Deliver simple meals and nutritional support
• Complete housekeeping and cleaning tasks, and maintain infection control standards
• Perform administrative tasks such as answering the phone, emails, and liaising with internal and external networks

Please note, weekend and public holiday work is required.

The classification for this position will be IN39 ($59,670 per annum, pro rata).

Your Contribution

• Hold a nationally accredited certificate at Australian Quality Framework Level 4 or be in the process
• Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Health Care Worker
• Commitment to the mission and philosophy of The Sister Francesca Healy Cottage and SVHM
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse client group and manage difficult behaviour
• Current criminal history check, or willing to complete
