St John Ambulance Australia (VIC) has served the community for over 135 years. We work for the service of humanity, existing to help those who are in sickness, distress, suffering or danger.
Running in excess of 4600 events per year, our dedicated volunteer membership is the lifeblood of the organisation, providing first aid and medical services to those in need at public events and emergencies. As a result of increasing community demand and output, as well as internal staff promotion, we are seeking a dynamic professional with operational experience.
This role is integral to the ongoing development and support of our volunteer managers and volunteer members and will also manage our Volunteer Support Officer and Youth Project Officer which are vital roles in the operational support of volunteer members and youth.
The Volunteer Development Manager will provide leadership, support and direction to the volunteer network and career staff, coaching and developing them to increase engagement, capacity and capability. Suited to an enthusiastic, and well organised leader who is ready to take the next step in their career journey, you will be positive, motivated and able to think outside the square.
Previous experience working with budgets/P&Ls, volunteers and workforce planning would be highly regarded.
St John offers a variety of benefits including tax free salary packaging options, wellness programs, free breakfast and fruit at branch, discount cards, career development and training, leadership programs, staff excellence awards/recognition programs and an active social club.

St John is committed to identifying, mitigating and managing risk to children through a preventative and risk management approach.
