About the Opportunity

This newly created role will drive the further development and implementation of a new community defibrillator program, engaging with and harnessing the support of key communities to gain their participation and support.

Reporting to the Marketing and Community Programs Manager, the role will build strong, positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and facilitate a pivotal program that will enhance knowledge and prompt action in the community around sudden cardiac arrest and defibrillators.

About You

We are seeking an enthusiastic and strong communicator who is self-motivated to outreach and build positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including those from CALD backgrounds. You will enjoy planning and implementing the wide range of community awareness initiatives and gaining the participation of the community in CPR and defibrillator education activities.

Essential criteria:

  • Prior experience in the development and execution of successful community programs
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and implement community development programs and projects
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and management skills
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly establish and maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, working cooperatively to achieve outcomes
  • Proven self-direction with organisation and planning skills and the ability to exercise initiative, discretion and judgement in working independently and as part of a team
  • Generates ideas or potential solutions without prompting
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the demonstrated ability to identify the actions required to resolve issues and take responsibility for following these through to completion
  • Demonstrated passion for purpose
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications - Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Qualifications in community development, communications, marketing or related field
  • Valid Australian Driver Licence and safe driving record
  • Own vehicle
  • Ability to complete Working with Children Check and a Police Record Check

Desirable Criteria:

  • Prior experience working within programs delivered to culturally and linguistically diverse communities
  • Demonstrated experience understanding and interpreting technical information such as medical research and medical equipment
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering public presentations
  • Lived experience of sudden cardiac arrest welcomed
  • A personal connection to the Melbourne suburb of Reservoir
