Spinal Life Australia is a non-profit organisation that provides expert knowledge, specialist therapies and supports tailored for people with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities. We're the largest provider of support services to people living with spinal cord injury in Australia.
We are excited to be expanding our support services to Western Australia! With this expansion we have created the new role of Member Liaison Officer to represent Spinal Life Australia and build our business in Perth and surrounds. This is a part-time fixed term contract, working 16-24 hours/week for 6 months.
What will I do?
As a Member Liaison Officer, you will be responsible for generating awareness of our organisation and establishing a membership base in Western Australia. This role is responsible for a range of functions for the Member Services area of the organisation which includes, but is not limited to:
- Generate interest in the organisation in Perth and surrounds, including networking with staff of other organisations, government agencies and the wider community;
- Engage with people with spinal cord damage to understand the types of services that they would benefit from in the future;
- Assist with identifying opportunities for development and expansion of the organisation in Perth, and wider Western Australia;
- Assist with development, promotion and delivery of local events and activities for members.
What's needed to be successful?
We are looking for someone with a real passion to make a difference and possesses the following:
- Experience in working with people with physical disabilities, or a lived experience of physical disability
- 1 – 2 years working in the community sector (community services or not-for-profit agency)
- Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and/or disability support agencies in Western Australia
- Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritise, time manage and multi-task in order to complete workload and meet deadlines
