The Employment Support Worker primarily provides intensive support to enable criminalised women and girls to access meaningful, secure employment. This will include addressing any and all barriers to employment such as poverty, homelessness, a criminal record, disability and trauma. Women and girls who have completed the SIS Work Pathways Program will have priority access to the for program. Most will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls living with trauma resulting from a variety of adverse life experiences including racism, child removal, imprisonment, poverty and violence.

This is a fixed term position funded through a Service Agreement with Paul Ramsay Foundation. It is hoped that Sisters Inside will continue to be funded to provide this service, however employment following the end of the current contract cannot be guaranteed. The position is subject to a 6-month probationary period for new Sisters Inside workers.
