The Opportunity

Our 24/7 Palliative Services aim to ensure people with life-limiting illnesses receive the support and comfort they need to remain at home, surrounded by friends and family they love, for as long as possible. In this role you are passionate in contributing to the wellbeing and comfort of your clients and work with compassion and patience.

Using your decision-making and problem-solving skills, you’ll support clients with tasks including care management plans, clinical assessments, liaising with GPs and social workers, respite care, pain management, pressure injury management and wound care. With support from your team, you can work with autonomy and flexibility and enhance your clinical skills. Experience firsthand the lasting impact of your work on people’s lives and the community.

Key Responsibilities

The key duties for a Registered Nurse in this role are to deliver optimum standards of palliative nursing care and support that meets the requirements of Silver Chains clients and carers to maintain their independence and remain within their homes and communities. 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will meet the following criteria:

  • Nursing qualifications and current registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 3 years post-graduate palliative care experience
  • Previous experience in palliative care
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and listening) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as within a diverse team environment
  • Demonstrated organisation and time management abilities with excellent attention to detail
  • Previous experience in a community health environment is highly desirable
  • Current Australian drivers licence
