We are searching for our next amazing Vegan Cafe Manager to lead our team at Shift Eatery

Shift is all about helping people make the shift to a vegan life so you will have to be passionate about veganism and what we do here. The cafe is cosy which means you must be organised, clean and structured.

The right person for the position will have been vegan for a while and have cafe experience in either a Barista or Kitchen role and able to manage the cafe operations from either of those positions. Therefore they must be hardworking, compassionate, creative and driven.

Its essential you have Full working rights or are an Australian Citizen.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Duties

1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the café and adhere to our strict vegan ethics
2. Roster staff according to meet budget and work requirements.
3. Provide amazing customer service, collect payment, operate registers
4. Oversee and manage entire operation of the floor, barista and kitchen.
5. Be cross-trained in all areas on the café and then train staff members in all positions incl. barista, floor & kitchen.
6. Ensure we communicate all changes and updates with customers correctly through social media and our website.

Responsibilities

1. Nurture a professional, collaborative work environment.
2. Recruit, hire and train staff.
3. Ensure all systems and procedures are followed so that the café runs smoothly.
4. Ensure that workplace hygiene, occupational health and safety are followed.
5. Monitoring quality of food and ingredients.
6. Liaise with all current suppliers & make new connections.
7. Provide ideas and innovation in your department.
8. Keep qualifications and other records up to date.
9. Perform site inspections and maintain a clean café.
10. Understand when it is essential to delegate or outsource tasks.
11. Comply with all legal obligations, company policies and practices.

Personal requirements:

• Be available to work: weekdays & nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Have a deep and profound understanding of veganism and what being vegan is about including the difficulties and joys of making the shift.
• Have a positive attitude with strong work ethic and communication skills.
• Punctual & exhibit excellent time management skills.
• Work well under pressure and also autonomously when needed.
• Must be honest, punctual and transparent.
• Neat and energetic with a can-do, problem-solving attitude.
