We are looking for a Membership & Communications Coordinator has oversight of and responsibility for the management of STAV’s membership data base, membership engagement initiatives and membership and other digital communication, including website content, social media, promotion and marking of STAV events and products and policy and advocacy campaigns and content.

The Membership & Communications Coordinator is responsible for planning, delivering and analysing relevant and target digital (and other) communication to members and key stakeholders that meets the Association’s goals and promotes STAV’s profile. This includes promotions of events, professional development, educational tools and campaigns and support of internal ICT systems.

Reporting to the Executive Manager, this position is a new position with significant opportunity to influence the strategic direction of STAV’s membership and stakeholder engagement and communication strategies. This dynamic position involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and responsiveness to the needs of STAV members, education networks and wider stakeholders. This hands-on role, in a small and agile organisation, requires energy, attention to detail and has considerable scope to evolve. Potential exists to extend the role.

Demonstrated commitment to STAV’s purpose and values;

  • A tertiary qualification in communications or similar relevant qualification and/ or minimum two years of experience in a similar role;
  • A high level of skill and knowledge of digital communications, advocacy and marketing including management and maintenance of database, latest relevant software and web-based communication applications and social media platforms;
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role working on a diverse range of engagement and communication strategies, including but not limited to website content, membership communications events, training and professional development, and internal corporate activities; across a range of locations, involving various stakeholders and with differing purposes;
  • Proven track record in delivering communication to a range of stakeholders reporting against success criteria and meeting financial targets;
  • Attention to detail to ensure excellent, professional, contemporary events management and associated written communications;
  • Ability to work with initiative, flexibility and autonomously, as well as take direction and work as part of a small team; and
  • Not-for-profit experience is preferred but not essential.
  • In line with STAV’s employment procedures, all STAV employees are required to undertake and maintain a Working With Children Check and National Police Check (international may be required).

Terms

  • Part-time, ongoing
  • FTE: 0.6 (3 days per week)
