The Science Teachers Association of Victoria (STAV) provides leadership, support, services, programs and resources for all levels of science education. STAV represents the collective voice of all Science educators in matters relating to the teaching of Science in Victoria. Through ASTA (the Australian Science Teachers Association) it represents these teachers at a national level. The primary function of STAV and Science Victoria is to provide useful and accessible services to members.
STAV, established in 1943 and Science Victoria, established by STAV in 2004, have enjoyed a rich history and continue to deliver conferences, events, professional development training and workshops to advance Science and Science Education; Science Talent Search (launched in 1952); publications and membership services supporting Science teachers and schools in Victoria.
We are looking for an outstanding leader to continue to deliver the ambitious transformational change program of STAV Council and the Science Victoria board. This vision includes the development of contemporary products and services to meet the changing needs of Victoria’s Science teachers and to work towards a thriving and sustainable membership association.
The role is in accordance with STAV’s strategic plan 2022-2025, in seeking new and exciting opportunities to expand our membership, advocacy, commercial revenue streams and reach.

Are you interested in developing resources and capacity in a small team and expanding organisation reach and commercial revenue streams? Do you like working with a small team of paid staff and expert volunteers who are thought leaders in the sector to make big things happen?
Are you committed to developing association membership services, professional development and events, publications, tools and resources and running an exemplary Science Talent Search Competition and do you thrive on the development, implementation of Strategic and Operational Plans in conjunction with Governance, including reporting and monitoring progress?

Working with Children’s and National Criminal History checks or the ability to obtain prior to commencing.
