Our Bilingual Mental Health Workers support people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds to connect to the mental health and community services they need.  They also deliver information and education sessions in their own language to community members about mental health, well being  and mental health services.

One Door Mental Health is seeking experienced bilingual mental health support workers for the  Bilingual Support Worker Program.

About the Program

The program aims to increase access and use of existing mental health services by the cultural and linguistically diverse community members with severe and persistent mental illness and their families or carers.

About the role:

This role requires the following skills and attributes:

• Community engagement skills - to build collaborative relationships with mental health and diversity services and communities in the Auburn area
• Excellent communication skills
• Mental health skills and knowledge
• Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and an understanding of the issues individuals and families may face in accessing services and supports
• Verbal and written fluency in a second language Arabic/ Dari or Hindi
