We are commencing recruitment processes in anticipation of potential funding that, if successful, would require rapid program scale up. We are seeking a full time, maximum-term (12 months, with option for extension) Senior Practitioner to join us at Save the Children Australia (SCA) as part of the Queensland Government's commitment to funding a new Domestic and Family Violence Crisis Shelter based in Brisbane.
This program aims to provide safety and support for women and children in the Brisbane catchment area escaping domestic and family violence while they await placement in a women's refuge or other temporary supported accommodation or longer term housing solution. The shelter will provide 24 hour 7 day a week access and mobile support. The successful candidate will be employed fulltime, Monday-Friday.
Reporting to the Team Leader the Senior Practitioner is responsible for providing in-house debrief and professional supervision for support staff working in the Crisis Shelter.
Save the Children (SCA) is the world's leading independent organisation for children. We are working hand in hand with our supporters to create a world where the rights of the child are protected, and where every child has access to the things we take for granted: basic health services, good nutrition and education. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to learn and have a voice to speak for themselves.
Besides working for a high-profile international organisation that makes a real different to children's lives, SCA offers generous salary packaging benefits, a friendly and flexible work environment, and great career opportunities.
Save the Children Australia is a child-safe organisation and this is fundamental to our work in achieving the rights of children. As such, all SCA employees are required to undergo a National Police Check, a Working with Children Check where necessary, and sign our Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct.
