Supported by a new CIO, you will join the Technology Leadership team with broad accountability across our core applications including engineering, support and delivery management for Save the Children Australia, the Pacific, and our social enterprises. We have new, bold technology ambitions and you'll help the team continue to iterate toward a progressive and technology led culture. Where you come in:

In this full-time, permanent position based in Carlton* you will be responsible for managing our core applications for Save the Children in Australia and the Pacific. You will be part of our Technology Leadership team and report to our CIO.

You will make an impact by:

  • Managing the full SDLC for core applications including requirements, testing, solution development, change and release management
  • Managing the continuous improvement of our agile delivery and support processes
  • Providing transparency of technical debt and ensuring our applications are healthy, cost effective and available.
  • Creating technical roadmaps for applications and engineering and operational guardrails to guide the teams.
  • Leading by example, showing the teams how to engineer, deliver and operate modern technology
  • Creating and maintaining a positive, productive, and happy team culture where team members can grow, learn and coach others to make a real difference.

Does this sound like you?

You lead by example, are hands on and a collaborative problem solver. You have engineered, delivered and supported many applications in many context and can converse with junior technical team members through to non-technical senior managers. You love solving problems and helping people.

This role requires:

  • Extensive applications management experience in the cloud and SaaS
  • Significant project management, scrum master or team management experience
  • Significant experience with managing modern engineering and delivery principles, tools and processes (eg CI/CD, Devops, Serverless, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • An agile mindset and an advocate for users of the applications
  • A customer centric approach and significant experience with service delivery tools and frameworks (eg Jira, ServiceNow, ITIL)
