VincentCare Victoria is seeking an experienced and appropriately-qualified person to take on the position of The Ozanam House Redevelopment, situated within the Inner Melbourne Community Hub, features an open-access drop in Homelessness Resource Centre where people aged over 18 experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness can access a suite of services including (but not limited to) drop –in support (i.e., meals, laundry facilities), case management, a health platform, and initial assessment and planning. The building also encompasses a 60-bed crisis accommodation, 48-bed extended stay units, for people over the age of 18 experiencing homelessness and 26 independent living units for people aged over 55.
The main component of the position is to manage the waitlist to access crisis accommodation at Ozanam House and to conduct assessments with people referred to Ozanam House. This position is responsible for completing thorough initial assessments and determining eligibility and suitability for Ozanam House, assisting with alternative housing options and interim response when a vacancy is not available at Ozanam House, utilising the Housing Establishment Fund (HEF), advocacy, and determining referral pathways across Melbourne to support services, external services and/or other identified goals/supports if necessary.
The Ozanam House Prioritisation Worker will aim to work from a collaborative, integrated and client centred approach with clients in accordance with the Homelessness Recovery Model (HRM).
