Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a social purpose organisation that works with partners to improve the lives of people in need in Australia by helping businesses, governments and philanthropists to be more effective funders and social purpose organisations to be more effective at delivering services. SVA’s Impact Investing team provides socially oriented organisations with a combination of capital and support to help them achieve social impact.

SVA is a leader in the Australian Impacting Investing market with a unique mandate to deliver risk-adjusted returns to its investors alongside measurable social impact. This broad mandate covers unlisted debt, private equity, real assets, and infrastructure investments. SVA launched Australia’s first Social Impact Bond in 2013 and is now one of the largest dedicated fund managers in the growing sector. In addition to the recently launched Synergis Fund, SVA offers structuring and advisory services to its clients in order to develop and bring Impact Investment products to the market.

The position

This exciting maximum-term, part-time position (3 days per week for 6 months) sits within SVA's Impact Investing team and provides operational support with day-to-day fund management functions of the Synergis Fund. For the provision of efficient back-of-house operations, the Fund Administrator prepares payment instructions, monitors cash custody, deals with investor queries and liaises with internal and external parties, including fund accountants, administrators, outsource providers and custodians.

Who you are

If you have a strong eye for detail, are driven by excellence and have some knowledge in funds and treasury management processes in an investment and or real estate environment, this is the role for you! The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in general finance concepts, together with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of property management software platforms (eg. Yardi) is desirable. An understanding of working in registry administration, fund administration, financial services or accounting will be an advantage.
