A part time finance manager position has become available at SUPRA/SUPRALS. We are the student representative association for postgraduate students at The University of Sydney.

SUPRA is the independent representative association for postgraduate students at the University of Sydney. We represent the interests of all postgrads, giving you a voice within the University and the wider community.

SUPRA offers highly competitive salary of $118,422 - $129,948 (pro rata for 42 hours) and working conditions including; 25 days annual leave (pro rata); additional 2 weeks leave over the December-January festive period; hybrid working conditions; 25 days p/a pooled personal leave (pro rata); 14% employer super contributions; cultural leave and NAIDOC leave.

To this end, the Finance Manager will:

  • Support student leaders plan and budget
  • Collaborate on and lead SUPRA’s funding applications and acquittal processes
  • Ensure payroll is managed in accordance with SUPRA’s Enterprise Agreement and Financial Regulations.
  • Work with external auditors and ensure transparency of financial matters

Key responsibilities

Specific key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Leading SUPRA in the development and delivery of its financial operations, being overall responsibility for service delivery.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of SUPRA’s finance operations, including payroll, budget oversight and receipts payable, maintaining and extending stakeholder relationships and communication strategies; ensuring compliance with funding agreements including reporting to funding bodies.
  • Maintaining compliance with ATO, ACNC and other regulatory bodies
  • Leading the preparation and maintenance of SUPRA’s budget
  • Enacting specific position duties as described in the position description
  • Ensuring hazards and risks are identified and controlled for in tasks, projects and activities that pose a workplace health and safety risk.
