The SOS Health Foundation is a not-for-profit, public benevolent which exists to Help close the gap in health equality and transform indigenous communities within Australia. We do that by engaging allied health professionals to volunteer and raise funds to sustainably improve the physical health of disadvantaged Indigenous Australians in remote communities.
SOS Health Foundation is committed to having a positive long-term impact on the physical health of the remote indigenous community of Palm Island community and operates a full time, heavily-subsidised physiotherapy service to support existing health services.

About the role

This is a multidimensional role!! You will be responsible for managing a not-for-profit practice, treatment and case management, as well as managing allied health assistant staff, supervising students and being part of planning and supporting the allied health volunteers SOS Health regularly sends to Palm Island. This is a unique opportunity for a qualified and experienced Physiotherapist who will have the opportunity to directly impact the health and lives of residents of this remote indigenous community.

You can expect a full and varied case load including musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, post-operative rehabilitation, sports and work injuries and aged care. With a strong emphasis on delivering healthcare in a culturally sensitive manner, you will be required to work collaboratively with other health services to achieve the best outcomes for your clients.
