About Red Nose

We are a national charity working to save little lives and support people impacted by the death of a baby or child. Since our ‘back to sleep’ program was first introduced in 1988, we’ve helped reduce SIDS in Australia by 80% - saving over 11,000 babies' lives and counting.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, the Human Resource Manager works closely with the CEO and Executive team. This is a varied and exciting role, with lots of opportunity for ownership and professional development.

The Human Resource Manager directs the recruitment of staff, manages all employee related matters and is responsible for the development and implantation of Red Nose policies and procedures. The position leads and manages various facets of the HR process including HR administration, compliance and reporting, talent acquisition, health and wellbeing, employee relations, and organisational and cultural development initiatives.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects such as the development of policies and procedures, culture and engagement surveys (and subsequent initiatives), learning and development projects, and the selection and implementation of a new HR system.

About You

We are looking for:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a hands-on HR role with exposure to payroll
  • Degree in HR Management
  • Ability to handle and maintain sensitive and confidential information
  • Demonstrated ability to advise and coach managers on a range of staffing matters and HR policies
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating various HR processes and programs including, but not limited to employee onboarding and offboarding, training and development, performance management, health and well-being, cultural training and management of a Human Resource Information System
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with high level attention to detail and accuracy Ability to interpret and apply industrial agreements, and provide advice to management and employees
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships with staff at all levels
  • Empathy, sensitivity, diplomacy and tact

It would be a bonus if you also have:

  • Post graduate qualifications
  • Experience implementing and managing a Reconciliation Action Plan
