St John of God (SJG) Social Outreach provides a range of community based mental health, homelessness and support and capacity development services across Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Timor-Leste.
Operated by SJG Social Outreach, Midland Head to Health offers free, on-the-spot advice and support and, if needed, assessment and treatment for people with stress, anxiety and other mental health issues. Midland Head to Health provides free mental health services to adults living in the Perth North Metropolitan area. Head to Health supports adults who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems including situational crisis, anxiety, depression, stress etc. No referral is required and we are open 7 days a week from 10:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs.
We are excited to invite applications for a Peer Support Worker to join our Head to Health team in Midland, Western Australia in this rewarding position.
Peer Support Workers are integral to the Head to Health team, providing the highest level of support to individuals who are provided with a service by Midland Head to Health. This will be achieved through the implementation of services and programs that are flexible and individualised in response to each person being supported.
Peer Support Workers are also required to participate in a range of appropriate programs and activities aimed at increasing the individual’s skills, knowledge and improve access to required services in the community.
This position is responsible for maintaining a high level of service provision for all individual’s and ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of all people supported and staff is maintained at all times. Along with supporting the identified needs of individuals in relation to their particular life circumstances.
This is a permanent part-time position and will be required to work 68.4 hours per fortnight.
