SASI has been providing a range of support services to people, families and community members children and adults living with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or other complex disabilities for over 50 years. Services include accommodation, day services, community-based recreation and respite, online services, communication support, goal mastery as well as positive behaviour support plus therapy and clinical services.

About you:

Critically, your understanding of ASD and your experience supporting clients with Positive Behaviour Support and a passion for providing Active Support will drive you to make a confident impact to the lives of those that SASI support.

  • Prior experience delivering music, dance or drama programs for people on the Autism spectrum
  • Committed to promoting independence, development and confidence in others
  • Experience with Positive Behaviour Support and the ability to consistently follow behaviour support plans essential
  • Willingness to positively contribute in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills
  • You will be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative

What you will need:

  • Must have an NDIS Check or be willing to obtain
  • Must have a Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain
  • Certificate IV Disability or relevant qualification preferred e.g. Training, Education, Mental Health, Youth, Performing Arts, Hospitality etc or significant lived experience working with people with Autism
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Willingness to undertake required training
  • Evidence of work eligibility if applicable
  • Current COVID (including boosters) and flu vaccination

It is a requirement of this position to adhere to SASI’s Safety Screening requirements and to acquire and maintain an NDIS Check, Working with Children Check and a valid Driver Licence.
