This organisation has aspired to remain innovative and relevant in a rapidly changing market and has a highly capable and forward-thinking executive team with a breadth of not for profit and commercial experience.
The business is about to significantly increase its scale of services. This will involve a major business transformation with a focus on workforce transition, systems and process implementation, service delivery reorientation and cultural alignment. The next few years will focus on delivering a high-quality customer experience while leveraging the increased economies of scale to deliver the organisation’s mission in a sustainable manner.
The Role
The Asset Manager is responsible for direct management of the organisation’s Property and Asset teams and Portfolios, including Projects, Properties and Vehicle & Fleet Management. The role is a result of the business undergoing very significant growth which has resulted in a large influx of both properties and vehicles. As the organisation continues to expand there will be a number of interesting challenges in managing the businesses current assets and ongoing asset management strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Management and transfer of the fleet and assets acquired by the business.
- Work closely with management to identify relocation needs for new office requirements including new office locations and facilities.
- Develop and maintain a viable property strategy in conjunction with key stakeholders which satisfy the current and ongoing needs of the organisation’s business strategy.
- Be a positive change agent within the organisation, and adopt a continuous improvement mentality.
- Provide team leadership and ongoing support and mentoring for all Property and Asset staff.
- Accountable for property repair deliver, and for regulatory standards and compliance relating to property and facility maintenance.
- Responsible for oversight of transport and pool car fleet vehicle management: cost, customer satisfaction and legislative compliance.
- Preparing reports for stakeholders, Exec and Government reporting committees on key performance indicators, trends and root causes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with social housing and transport providers to identify market driven reform activities
- Work with Finance, Quality and Assets staff to ensure all Assets are adequately insured and we follow good claims practices
- Responsible for reporting against budget and preparation of quality, succinct, relevant and appropriate staff, leadership group and Executive reports
About You

Competencies necessary to succeeding in the role include strong commercial acumen, good influencing skills and the ability to build rapport with executives, operational staff and external parties.
Your experience and skills should include most, if not all of:
- Extensive & proven experience in a property management role.
- Comprehensive and extensive knowledge of the property and maintenance industry.
- Experience managing fleets made up of cars, minibuses and buses.
- Experience in the management of major implementation projects in a rapidly growing business.
- Extensive & proven experience in the management of third party service providers including SLA and KPI management.
- Experience in developing customer focused service delivery and reporting information in a Human Services environment.
- Experience in the development, governance and running of Requests for Tender/Requests for Proposal.
