Refuge Victoria is a not-for-profit Specialist Family Violence Organisation that provides refuge/crisis accommodation and support to women and children as they begin their journeys to a safer and happier future.
We have been responding to family violence and changing people’s stories for over 40 years. Refuge Victoria is the largest provider of refuge/crisis accommodation in Victoria with three core and cluster refuges, 15 refuge properties and nomination rights to 35 Transitional Houses.

We support women and children experiencing homelessness from family violence, providing refuge and crisis accommodation, risk assessment and case management support and outreach case management support to clients in transitional properties and/or private rental.
Leading a passionate, collaborative team the Refuge Manager has the primary responsibility for the management of staff and services for the Maroondah refuge, surrounding 13 refuge properties and 35 transitional properties. The refuge manager will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the refuge and accompanying properties as well as providing reflective practice, debriefing and supervision to the team.
The Refuge Manager plays a pivotal role in the success of the family violence emergency response program. They are expected to meet a range of outcomes and deliverables which align with Refuge Victoria’s Strategic Plan.
The Refuge Manager is responsible for coordinating the delivery of an extended hours service. This role entails the oversight and monitoring of high-quality intake and family violence risk assessments, safety plans, needs assessments, case and exit planning. The role also incorporates overall management of the properties and units to ensure they are maintained and ready for occupancy. The program includes full time Monday to Friday staff and staff rostered over seven days per week providing after-hours support.
