About RedR Australia:

RedR Australia is a leading international humanitarian response agency that recruits, trains and deploys technical specialists globally. RedR Australia provides skilled people and training to help communities prepare, respond and recover from crises and conflict. RedR Australia maintains a roster of more than 750 technical experts ready for deployment across the humanitarian program cycle including information management, disaster risk reduction, civil-military, protection, coordination, humanitarian affairs and WASH specialists. RedR Australia works with NGOs, governments and multilateral institutions; we also implement Australia Assists, the Australian Government’s humanitarian civilian deployment program, deploying technical specialists to help partners prepare for, respond to and recover from natural disasters and conflict globally.

The Role:

RedR Australia’s training capability is undergoing a transformation in response to the challenges and opportunities presented by COVID-19. As a part of this, we are moving to digitise our training administration and course management functions through the adoption of a Training Management System. In addition, we are re-thinking our traditional training offerings and making important decisions about how can diversify and extend our reach into new and exciting markets with training products that meet the learning needs of our members and other humanitarians working across geographically dispersed locations. The purpose of this role is to work with us to help make this happen.

This role provides pivotal support in the administration and coordination of the training capability, supporting internal requirements (finance, administration, Australia Assists program delivery) as well as the wider training community comprised of Associate Trainers, volunteers and new, current and old training participants. This role keeps the back-of-house ‘slick and seamless’ so that the Training Manager can focus on course delivery, strategy, external relations and business development.

The Humanitarian Training Coordinator will act as the interface between RedR Australia and the public. A critical function of the role is to promote RedR Australia’s global humanitarian training to new and existing clients by proactively following up on leads and requests for information.

The role also acts as the administrative focal point for:

  • Training participants as they make their way through the training pathway from an expression of interest, to course completion and beyond
  • Associate Trainers in the delivery of core courses as well as ad-hoc bespoke courses
  • Volunteers, who are critical to the delivery of our residential courses
  • Our partners and stakeholders who engage RedR Australia to deliver high-impact training.

RedR Australia is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to equality when responding to humanitarian needs. RedR Australia is dedicated to employing staff irrespective of gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability and age. We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and people with a disability to apply.
